Homestay

Homestay is one of the best ways to experience Australian way of life! Living in an Australian home will help you to use your English skills in everyday situations. Your host family will provide you with a private bedroom and desk, breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday and all meals on the weekend.

Each home is regularly visited by our Homestay Coordinator, so you can expect the highest standards. All homestays are within 50 minutes from BROWNS Brisbane Campus or BROWNS Gold Coast Campus by bus/train. It is sometimes possible to walk or bicycle to school.

Before you leave home you will be sent a profile of your host family, including photos, enabling you to become familiar with your Australian hosts.

As well as placing our students with homestay families, our Homestay Coordinator is also available to talk to you if you need advice about adjusting to family life in Australia.

BROWNS offers Single or Twin Share homestay with the option to personalise with our upgrade preferences:

  • Shared bathroom
  • Maximum 3 students per family (Students will be of different nationalities)

Upgrade your Homestay
Add more to your BROWNS Homestay experience with our BROWNS Homestay Upgrade Preferences . Students can choose any or all of the options below (charges apply):

  • To be close to the school  
  • To be hosted with no other students
  • Own bathroom

You can also choose to add any of the following upgrades* (charges apply):

  • To have Internet Access
  • Full Board Upgrade
  • Special Dietry Requirements
  • Transport Assistance between Homestay and School
